BGSS NDP 2014: プライド

Time flies so fast and it's already July, and guess what? There's finally a chance for me to experience doing drills with the other Uniform Groups in school, WE ARE FINALLY PARTICIPATING IN OUR SCHOOL'S NATIONAL DAY PARADE!!

I honestly hope that it will give my squadmates and I a fruitful experience bonding with NCC and SJAB, despite not communicating much because of class and CCA differences, I hope to understand the other cadets better through this wonderful event.

Sadly, all we've been doing today were just drills like sedia, senang diri, ke dalam lurus and kanan/kiri belok. It was really boring and tiring, all the cadet leaders were basically trying to coordinate all of us, however, there was a great difficulty, mainly because all of us are from different UGs and trying to combine 3 different habits and culture is never easy. But no matter what, I am sure at the end of the day, all our hardwork is gonna pay off (:

In addition to our first NDP training, my squadmates and I were also taught new drills! It's been forever since we heard about rifle drills and we finally got to learn it!! Was taught Rusok Senjata and the whole squad got the basics within a few minutes. Super proud of my squad, I hope we'll continue it like this xD

Back to NDP, I can't wait for it, to celebrate Singapore's 49th birthday and also to be thankful how Singapore have been progressing through out the years to give us such education and healthcare. Although Singapore also has many imperfections just like humans, this is where I have been spending my life till now and so there is nothing bad about being proud of it, even though the parade is going to be just a few minutes (:

Also, not forgetting our Secondary 4 seniors, our "lovely" Staff Sergeants, today's your last day in BGNP already. Yes, we will miss you all but I would like to let you all know that, even though you guys may not always be physically here with us, the tracks you've left behind will always be here in BGNP, where your juniors will follow your footsteps to success. Honestly, all of you have inspired us on how to be a good leader and how to lead the whole unit as one (including Batch X). You all have helped us a lot not only in CCA but also academically, thank you so much. You guys should be happy you stepped down without any regrets and even if you do have any, leave it all behind and it's time to move on, focus on Os and Ns, score for it and make your family and friends proud.

It was unlucky how the Passing Out Parade clashed with the NDP training, if not for it, leaving the unit could have been better and more memorable for you guys. I really hope you liked my squad's impromptu performance (as well as the Sec1s') on this special day and would like to apologize that we could not pass you your POP gifts today because of how unexpected it was but it's okay, it's not like you'll never get your gifts. HAHAH. All the best for your GCE Os and Ns!! Hope to see you all visit us sometime even after stepping down! ^^
